Jan Moritz Joseph leads a research group on the energy- and resource-efficient execution of artificial intelligence (AI) on embedded systems as a senior researcher at RWTH Aachen University. He has built up this research group since 2020. For his outstanding scientific achievements, Mr. Joseph was accepted as a Young Scholar of the Academy of Sciences and Arts NRW in 2024. He has also received numerous awards in recent years, including 1st place in the RWTH 2022 Innovation Awards and the HiPeac Technology Transfer Award in 2023.
Previously, Mr. Joseph worked in the Synergy Lab of Prof. Tushar Krishna at the Georgia Institute of Technology. This is one of the world's most renowned research groups on computer architectures for AI.
For his doctorate on interconnection networks in 3D-integrated chips, Dr. Joseph received the highest grade and the prize for the best dissertation 2020 from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg. During his studies in computer science, Dr. Joseph was supported by the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes for his excellent academic achievements.
