Institute for Communication Technologies and Embedded Systems

ICE is partner of the international Horizon 2020 project Phoenix

The Phoenix approach is a completely novel concept to gain insights in systems which are yet not accessible. To achieve this goal Phoenix will investigate radically new design methodologies for the development and research of sensors-swarms to investigate, e.g., water or gas and oil reservoirs in the subterranean. Inherently related to these systems are hardly-assessable measurements, which is a very challenging research question in estimation and optimization theory. Furthermore, sensor motes accessing these environments have very limited communication capabilities. To tackle this challenges, novel concepts based on evolutional learning and distributed optimization, as well as new hardware design methodologies will be investigated.
