Institute for Communication Technologies and Embedded Systems

Interns from the IIT Kharagpur/Madras, India

From May until late July, three new interns, Mr. Pal, Mr. Sankararaman and Mr. Shyamkumar Jayaraman, are visiting the Chair for Software for Systems on Silicon and the Chair for Integrated Signal Processing Systems. The interns  come from the India Institute of Technology (IIT) - Kharagpur and Madras, universities with which ICE has had several academic exchanges in the past.

Mr. Sankararaman is currently pursuing a B.S. + M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering at the IIT Madras, Chennai, where he is expected to graduate by 2013. At SSS he is working with debugging interfaces for MPSoC systems on SystemC based virtual platforms.

Mr. Pal is currently in his third year of the B.Tech + M.Tech (Dual Degree) in Electronics and Electrical Communication Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, with a strong focus on embedded systems and communication technology. During his three month's internship at ICE he will be working in the SSS group on a source-to-source optimizer for the C programming language.

Mr. Shyamkumar Jayaraman is currently pursuing an Integrated Masters degree (B.S + M.S) in Electrical engineering  (VLSI and Microelectronics) at IIT Madras, Chennai. During his 3 month internship at the ICE, he'll be working on using ISE synthesis tools on designing an efficient Coarse-Grained Reconfigurable Architecture for MMSE-PIC detection algorithm .

All three research internships are sponsored by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).

We hope to continue to receive excellent students from these top Indian institutions in the future!
